Soil Requirements

Best grown in a moist but free draining sandy soil, but will tolerate most soil types.

Does not have pH preference and is adaptable to all levels (acid, alkaline, neutral).

Watering RequirementsIf being grown in containers ensure the plant doesn’t dry out. Prefers to be kept on the drier side, so try not to over water.

A general rule of thumb when it comes to pruning the Dwarf Pine is to not prune in the autumn.

Pines do not produce new buds from old growth. That means that the tree will stop growing from any pruning points if you cut branches out of season. It is wiser to prune the Dwarf pine in spring and only trim the new growth.

Remove diseased, damaged, congested or crossing shoots. Shoots that are growing in unwanted directions can also be pruned out.
