London Stone's collection of porcelain setts are small porcelain paving tiles, measuring 200 x 100 x 20mm (length x width x depth).
This brick-like shape is reminiscent of sandstone cobbles and clay brick pavers, and is an extraordinarily versatile addition to any garden design. Suitable for paving garden paths, patios and driveways, porcelain setts can also be used for edging, borders, and mowing strips.
Another option is to combine them with larger porcelain paving slabs to add the sort of detail that shows real quality in design.

Porcelain paving setts are practical and versatile, making them useful for many different applications. This means that modern designers and style-conscious homeowners have a variety of options, enabling you to arrange your porcelain cobbles to your own personal preferences.
Let's take a look at some of the most sophisticated designs you can choose from.
It's easy to create big impact designs with setts. Using them as edging stones to a patio helps to add a finishing touch to your paving, creating an attractive frame or border. It's your choice whether you choose a colour to match your paving or one that contrasts with it.
Our porcelain edging setts are available to match the most popular colours in our Budget porcelain range - choosing to match the main paving design is a way to create subtle textural differences without adding another colour. Alternatively, choosing a different colour scheme can add a strong contrast, emphasising the role of strong lines and angles in your design.
Porcelain setts may also be used to introduce patterns within a paved area.
For example, a circle or square of porcelain cobbles laid within a large area of paving adds a different texture, breaking up the expanse so it doesn't feel as imposing.
Curves add a nice flow to your garden design - whether they're placed on a path, a lawn edge or a paving circle. Whilst large paving slabs may require a great deal of cutting to create curves, setts can be easily laid in a gentle curve, making paths or mowing strips a perfect match for informal planting and lush borders.
Thanks to their small size, there is a reduced need to cut porcelain paving setts. Instead, you can lay a sinuous line without the need to cut by using the joints to create the curve.
However, should you need to cut your porcelain setts (perhaps because you've employed a running bond laying pattern and need to create a straight line at the paving edge), then you will need to use a continuous rim diamond blade. Setts should be wet cut, and we recommend using a table saw for the most accurate finish.
Several paving styles exist that echo the shape of porcelain setts, including clay brick pavers and natural stone cobbles. Granite and sandstone setts are very popular - granite cobbles are particularly popular for driveway paving ideas. These items are particularly suitable for paving schemes designed for more traditional and period properties.
However, if you're looking for a more contemporary feel, check out our stone pavers. These paving stones have sawn edges and a slimmer outline than setts, which makes them (like porcelain) particularly suited to modern designs.
