Budget Porcelain Paving Slabs

Why Buy Project Porcelain Paving Slabs?

When you purchase budget-friendly porcelain paving slabs from London Stone, you're investing in quality and affordable materials achieved through careful research into colours and our strong partnership with our manufacturers.

Our Project porcelain, made in India, opens up plentiful options for this increasingly sought-after paving material. You can rest assured that you're buying fully vitrified paving, giving you all the hard-wearing qualities you need and expect from porcelain.

Not only is our Project porcelain scratch-resistant and frost-resistant, but it also features extremely low porosity (at < 0.05%, it's much less water-absorbent than many budget porcelain outdoor tiles on the market). Like the rest of the London Stone porcelain paving ranges, it also comes with a 10-year guarantee.

With prices starting from just £27/m2, we've also worked with our in-house production facility to develop a range of matching steps and copings that makes our Project porcelain range an ideal choice for projects where the budget might otherwise restrict choice.

A Vast Choice of Porcelain Colours

Our Project porcelain paving range deliberately focuses on grey porcelain options, giving you an excellent choice in one of the most popular paving colours.

From the even shades of Charcoal and Polished Concrete, through to the distinctive mixed tones and markings of Marble Grey and pale Light Grey, there's a shade to blend with every type of garden surrounding.

A Realistic Sandstone Effect

Natural stone imitations are on trend for porcelain at the moment - to cater to this demand, the project range includes two colours modelled on popular Indian Sandstone choices - Kandla Grey and Raj Green.

Developed by us in close collaboration with our Indian supplier, Kandla Grey and Raj Green porcelain have been designed and manufactured with an impressive number of differently printed slabs, with up to 68 for Kandla Grey. This feature creates an authentic effect that closely matches real Kandla Grey Indian Sandstone, while bringing the modern lines, slim jointing and easy maintenance you would expect from our porcelain paving collection.

Reliable and Consistent Colouring

Natural variations in colour and texture are one of the main benefits of natural stone, but it's not for everybody.

For those clients who like to know exactly what they are getting when making a purchase, our budget paving slabs offer the peace of mind that every slab will be tonally appropriate. Even a relatively varied natural stone like Raj Green can throw up a few slabs that won't fit with your colour scheme, which may need to be jettisoned or placed discreetly out of the way. When fitting our Indian sandstone porcelain, you know that every slab will be usable in any position.

The Designers' Choice

Testament to the quality of our budget paving slabs is their selection by designers for award-winning show gardens at RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) shows.

At the 2021 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Landform Consultants chose Light Grey porcelain paving for a tranquil show garden in the Balcony category, while Cream porcelain planks at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show gave a dynamic feel to designer James Smith's garden, It's OK Not to Be OK.

The hard-wearing quality of our Project porcelain was also a reason why Hartley Botanics used our Travertine Dark Porcelain on their bustling 5*-awarded stand at RHS Chelsea in 2022.

Budget Porcelain Paving Slabs for Balconies and Pedestals

Porcelain paving slabs are an excellent choice for areas where weight limitations exist, such as roof terraces and balconies.

All our porcelain paving can be installed on pedestal systems, which removes the need for sub-bases or mortar beds. However, our Project porcelain collection weighs less than our Italian porcelain tiles, making it useful in an even wider range of settings.

A Wide Choice of Paving Sizes

All our budget paving slabs are available in a 900x600mm format. These tiles emulate the UK's most popular natural paving size, putting our Project porcelain paving slabs at ease in a range of designs.

When London Stone first introduced 900x600mm sizing to the porcelain market (in response to customer feedback), the size immediately became a best-seller. The format is also available across our entire Italian porcelain slabs collection - discover the benefits of using patio designs with 900x600mm porcelain paving here.

The Project paving selection also offers unique format options within our porcelain ranges. Only in these colours can you find plank paving and porcelain setts. Exciting design opportunities with plank paving allow you to incorporate a unique feel to patios and paths, thanks to the slabs' long, narrow lines. Setts are ideal as an edging to patios and borders, and can also be used to insert some colour contrast into your paving.
