Waste Natural Stone Paving

As we stand London Stone are currently getting rid of 2-3 skips per week of waste natural stone paving.  There are a couple of reasons for this.  With any natural stone company there is always going to be a certain amount of damaged stock which cannot be sold.  There will also be stock which does not make the quality standard that London Stone expect.  In addition our bespoke stone masonry department generates huge quantities of waste and offcuts.  Anyone who has been down to our depot at Stanwell will have see the huge waste pile of Yorkstone Paving.  In addition to the Yorkstone we also have all the waste and off cuts from our Indian Sandstone and from our Sawn Paving.  It is a real shame to see this material just thrown away.  We have been racking our brains to try and come up with a solution for this waste pile, it would please me enormously to see stone put to use.  One idea we have been discussing is to crush the waste up in a concrete crusher once a fortnight and then to sell it to our customers as clean fill.  Indian sandstone in particular is rock hard and could be very effective if used as a sub base underneath a patio.  If anyone has any ideas how we can address this waste pile, we would be very eager to hear them.  contact steven@londonstone.com
