London Stone Shows New Products At The Landscape Show, Battersea - take a look at what the show had to offer

With visitors flying in from Europe, and even as far afield as Russia, The Landscape Show at Battersea this week was, as Craig Potter, our Garden Design Director, observed, “The busiest since I’ve been coming here.” (And he’s been here a fair few years!)

It wasn’t just those in the know who came either. In the first few hours of the first morning, Craig said, “I met three designers who were completely new to me, two of whom live very close to our soon-to-open Surrey Showroom in Farnham.”

We were delighted to welcome old friends too. It’s always great to get face to face for a chat and hear about progress. It gives us a chance to update your sample boxes too.

DesignBoard Composite Decking - Landscape Show 2018

DesginBoard composite decking - contemporary, stylish and available in an array of colours

Special features on our stand this year included the two new colours in DesignBoard and Millboard, with plenty of samples for landscapers and designers to take away.

These two types of composite decking share the same high quality but are very different in style. Charcoal DesignBoard is perfect for the current trend towards Japanese-style gardens featuring Shou Sugi Ban, the charred treatment that gives timber a smoky character. Charcoal DesignBoard taps into the enthusiasm for this colour, while giving a low-maintenance, contemporary-looking alternative to timber in a subtle mix of mocha and ink-black.

London Stone Landscape Show 2018 - Natural Stone Porcelain Samples

Porcelain and natural stone will always take centre stage for London Stone

Millboard already offers Embered Oak for the Shou Sugi Ban-look. Their newest addition is Brushed Basalt with an enhanced grain, designed specifically with bi-fold doors in mind, as it marries up perfectly with their popular dark colouring but adds a nice touch of character and grain.

We also have the latest addition of Bullnosed Boards across our Millboard colour range, to add a classic touch to steps and edges.

One noticeable trend this year was pretty near a doubling in the number of suppliers of Porcelain. This goes to show just how popular this material has become.

We won’t pretend we weren’t pleased to find that quite a few landscapers were coming to us to validate what they’d been told elsewhere. With several years of Porcelain experience behind us, we’re very happy to explain the finer points of Porcelain cutting and installation, while we also, of course, make it easy for you by stocking twenty-two carefully-selected colours, as well as all of the cutting blades and ancillaries required for installation, usually available for next-day delivery.

London Stone Stand - Landscape Show 2018

Finally, we were also displaying our innovative addition of off-the-shelf Grey and Buff Sawn Yorkstones, which we told you about last week. We believe this to be a service unique to us. So, no more waiting four to eight weeks for this premium quality paving - step treads, coping and paving are all ready for next-day delivery in standard sizes.

So, that’s the Landscape Show over for another year. A big thank-you to everyone who took the time to visit our stand and see what we have to offer
