Garden House Design's exterior display - a place to ponder, surrounded with inspiration for your next scheme

One of three London Stone partnerships around the country - making our products at a distance in all directions from London - Garden House Design gives you the opportunity to show your clients our products in person, or to send them along to the extremely capable hands of Debs and Rod Winrow.

On Tuesday, Debs and Rod hosted ‘An Evening with London Stone’ at which landscapers and designers, not only got to hear about our new 2019 Service Offering, but to see the facilities on offer at Garden House Design.

“We mirror a London Stone showroom,” says Debs. “It’s a different feeling as you arrive - we’re in an old barn on a farm - but once inside it doesn’t feel so different.”

There, you’ll find our full range, including the new Porcelain ranges launched as part of our Service Offering this year. Just like our showrooms around the M25 and in Surrey, it’s somewhere your clients are made to feel at home.

“Builders’ merchants can be intimidating, especially if you’re female,” says Debs. “There’s not much on display and the customer’s not really interested in price per square metre - they’re more interested in colour, finish, maintenance and price.”

Customer Experience Director Chris Durnford gave a full run-down of recent developments. “He picked out the key points of the innovative products,” says Debs, “the research and development going into DesignBoard, the 2019 launch of DesignBoard Cladding, free ancillaries and nationwide delivery.”

Free nationwide delivery is one of the major features of our new Service Offering, meaning that you can now purchase from our partners at competitive prices anywhere in the country.

Garden House Design draws quality brands together, stocking Renson canopies, Millboard composite decking and Delvita Wood Fired Ovens, among other brands. “We’re the John Lewis or Selfridges of garden design,” says Debs. “And London Stone is absolutely spot-on with the way they work with our other products. They are high end but with a good range of price which makes sure our products are touchable for all clients.”

It’ll be interesting to see how our products evolve in the hands of our partners. “You’ll probably find that the partners get known for different ranges, different colours,” says Debs. “We’re in the South East, so the colour palette is different from the north. We’re coastal, white and grey, very contemporary, so more Porcelain, perhaps.”

Not just on the ground. DesignClad holds prime position in the internal display area at GHD

While Garden House Design focuses on creating a very consumer-facing, lifestyle-driven environment - ideal for presenting products in a way that lets the client see how they’ll work for them - they’re every bit as glad to see landscapers. “We’re knowledgeable landscapers and you can still rock-up in your work boots!” says Debs. “And we can lend one of our outdoor meeting rooms or, with notice, the indoor showroom, for talking to clients. The good news is that you’ll get the London Stone trade discount as well.”

We’ve been working with Garden House Design for some time. You may remember that DesignBoard was a major feature on their trade stand at last year’s Hampton Court Flower Show. “Being a partner is a collaboration, blending the two brands together to give great customer service,” says Debs. “We both family-run, which gives a little bit more flexibility in making decisions, and the products are ethically sourced. But the biggest thing is that London Stone are innovative; they listen when the customer says what they want, and get it for them.”
