Our Fuga Pave Primer is ideal for laying a residential driveway or patio when using in conjunction with Fuga Pave bedding mortar. Bedding primer is applied to the underside of paving units to improve adhesion to the bedding mortar. The primer must be applied moments before the paving slab is installed onto the prepared bed. The primer can also be used for ensuring that exposed features such as wall copings, pier caps, or step treads are securely fixed and do not become loose. Product Detail Fuga Pave Primer is a cement-based primer which contains fibre reinforcement and specially designed polymer additives to promote bond strength and enable fixing of porcelain and other low absorption types of paving to both hardcore and solid bases. Simply mix the primer powder with water and apply to the back of the paving before fixing in a bed of Fuga Pave Mortar. It can be used in internal and external domestic and heavily trafficked installations.

Storage & Shelf Life Store in dry internal conditions away from direct sunlight between 5 - 25˚C. The product has a 12 month shelf life from date of manufacture.
PPE Requirements Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear latex gloves and protective clothing during application.

Install Preparation It is essential that the underside of the paving is clean and dry before the primer is applied. Thoroughly dry brush to remove all dust, dirt or any other material which may impair adhesion. Suitable for use in temperatures between 30˚C and 25˚C.
Equipment Required Buckets, paddle mixer, water, sponges, hand brush.
Mixing Add approximately 6.2 litres of cold water to a suitable mixing bucket and gradually introduce the 20kg of powder (approximately 0.3 litres of water/ 1kg of powder used), stirring to blend the mixed primer to a smooth lump-free slurry. It is essential to only mix enough material that can be used within the pot life of the product. The primer has a pot life of around 60 minutes at 20oC, which will be extended in cold conditions and reduced in warm temperatures.
Application Process Using a suitable brush or roller, apply the mixed primer slurry over the whole of the underside of each slab at a thickness of 1mm-2mm immediately before laying onto the mortar bed. Please note that Fuga-Pave Primer is a cement-based product and therefore all tools should be washed with clean water immediately after use. Do not empty waste material into the drainage system.
Cleaning Tools Wash all tools frequently to avoid material bonding to them.
Cleaning During Application Always keep a clean sponge and water available for wiping off any excess or spillages from paving.

You will be responsible for returning the material to London Stone. Collection can be made by us but this will incur a collection cost.
