Gentle graining and wheat -gold colouring of our Golden Oak Millboard Cladding creates the warm authentic look of an oak board. The larger grain detail and the increased width of the boards creates visual impact that is sure to deliver an impressive cladded facade. Millboard cladding has the advantages of being low-maintenance and rot-proof, the boards are also profiled with oblique angles to prevent water collecting between two profiles as well as helping rainwater wash over the face of the cladding. These indents also create visual definition to the grain patterns to make a truly impressive wall feature suitable for both modern and traditional settings.

Installation processFix battens to area to be clad. Support centres are minimum 400m for Shadow line (for increased load it should be 300mm). Always allow a vertical airflow/ventilation gap of at least 19mm so you get a continuous airflow behind cladding. Breathable membranes and waterproofing for walls may be required depending on the wall type being fixed too. Start with the correct starter trim at the bottom of the installation, "J" trim for where cladding is installed horizontally or "L" trim where installed vertically. Install trim at the bottom of the area to be clad along with the Perforated Closure to prevent insects or rodents from getting into cavity behind cladding. Fix these using the accessories fixing screws. Place first board on starter trim at the bottom and secure the tongue of the board into the battens using the cladding board fixing screws. If you cannot fix through the tongue then use DuraFix screws to fix through the face of the board. Fascias can be used for window/door reveals and soffits. For Shadow Line use the specific Internal and External corner profiles. See install guide for detail.

Aftercare

Millboard Cladding requires minimal aftercare. If boards become dirty during installation, cleaned as soon as possible using warm soapy water and a brush or pressure washer. Note - Pressure washers can be used on Millboard Cladding, with a PSI of no greater than 2000. A fan tip should be used with a 40 to 60 degree spread, keeping the head 250-300mm away from the surface. Always test in an inconspicuous area first - direct, prolonged contact might damage the surface of the boards. Stubborn marks can be removed with a range of different cleaners depending on the mark.
