Our Burnt Cedar Millboard Cladding is moulded from pieces of timber of varying width and grain patterns to replicate the unique feel of natural wood. The profiles in the Millboard cladding are designed with differing angles to create shadow definition between the grain patterns, this paired with the smooth dark tones bring the bold elegance of charred wood to your garden design. Burnt Cedar Millboard Cladding may have the sleek appearance of real wood, but this wood alternative has many more benefits. The boards do not warp, are hard-wearing and require minimal maintenance. The angles in the boards facilitates rainwater drainage to prevent pooling, but also to reduce the need for hand washing. This Millboard cladding is also quick to install as the tongue and groove profile only requires fixings through the tongue. The contemporary feel of the board will look instantly at home in both modern and traditional settings.

Installation processFix battens to area to be clad. Support centres are minimum 600mm for Board and Batten (for increased load it should be 400mm). Always allow a vertical airflow/ventilation gap of at least 19mm so you get a continuous airflow behind cladding. Breathable membranes and waterproofing for walls may be required depending on the wall type being fixed too. Start with the correct starter trim at the bottom of the installation, "J" trim for where cladding is installed horizontally or "L" trim where installed vertically. Install trim at the bottom of the area to be clad along with the Perforated Closure to prevent insects or rodents from getting into cavity behind cladding. Fix these using the accessories fixing screws. Place first board on starter trim at the bottom and secure the tongue of the board into the battens using the cladding board fixing screws. If you cannot fix through the tongue then use DuraFix screws to fix through the face of the board. Fascias can be used for window/door reveals and soffits. For Board and Batten use standard square edging for corners. See install guide for detail.

Aftercare

Millboard Cladding requires minimal aftercare. If boards become dirty during installation, cleaned as soon as possible using warm soapy water and a brush or pressure washer. Note - Pressure washers can be used on Millboard Cladding, with a PSI of no greater than 2000. A fan tip should be used with a 40 to 60 degree spread, keeping the head 250-300mm away from the surface. Always test in an inconspicuous area first - direct, prolonged contact might damage the surface of the boards. Stubborn marks can be removed with a range of different cleaners depending on the mark.
