What you need to know about limestone colouring
It’s worth noting that, like all limestones, both these grey paving options will gradually weather to a lighter shade. This will happen more quickly in full sun. For some, this is part of their appeal. If you prefer to retain a richer colour, then we recommend applying a colour-enhancing sealer to the Graphite Grey limestone, preferably before laying.
For our pre-sealed Jura Limestone, we recommend resealing around three years after laying, when Dry Treat Colour Enhancing Sealant (to deepen its colour) or Dry Treat Premium Sealant (to retain the colour to which it's weathered since laying) may be used. (Please note, it's also important to clean limestone with a non-acidic cleaner to avoid bleaching its colour.)
Even if you don’t want to apply a colour enhancer, we always recommend that sawn stone should be sealed. And if you prefer not to seal and would like to avoid limestone weathering, consider our exclusive range of Jura porcelain.
