The natural Juras have long been designer favourites. Jura limestone features regularly in RHS award-winning gardens. It's the prehistoric fossils embedded in the stone that give it a character all its own.

We love natural limestone paving, but there are a few differences about porcelain limestone that you might prefer.

Limestone isn’t difficult to look after, but use an acid cleaner by mistake and it’ll never look the same again. Jura porcelain offers all the low-maintenance stain-resistance you expect of top-quality porcelain.

Limestone weathers beautifully, fading gently in full sun. Many people like this subtle ageing effect. However, if you’re laying your paving in a sunny, south-facing position and you’d rather it remained as close as possible to the colour you originally saw, then you'll need to treat it with colour-enhancer every few years. With our Jura Beige and Jura Grey porcelain paving, you don’t have to worry about this. Made to the highest standards, and part of our range of Italian Porcelain, they’re resistant to UV-fading.

Porcelain is manufactured with inbuilt slip resistance and you may prefer the reassurance this brings. Sawn Jura limestone looks stunning around a pool and many people are happy to use it, but it does have a lower slip-resistance when wet than many sandstones and riven limestone. Check the specifications of individual products for slip-resistance indicators and if you'd like advice, then our staff will be happy to help.

Porcelain limestone patio slabs help stretch the budget much further, giving you the option to complete your design with that luxury garden dining set or slatted cedar fencing you’ve had your eye on, while still retaining that distinctive Jura limestone appearance. High production standards are what you expect of London Stone, and they're what make this paving so like the natural stone. In all, each colour is made up of 14 slabs, each one slightly different. This emulates the natural variation you’d expect in sawn stone slabs. This large number of individual tiles means that the repeat is lost in the laying. Many cheaper porcelains offer fewer individually different tiles and this can spoil the effect. With our Jura slabs, only close examination will reveal the fact that they’re manufactured, rather than quarried.
