Egyptian limestone paving - people love it! So much that we've extended our range. Let us show you the three new options in this very lovely natural stone.

Egyptian Beige limestone has been a customer favourite for many years and, here, creates an elegant terraced patio in this design by Nicola Greaves, built by Himalayan Landscaping.

Our new options give a slightly different character to Egyptian Beige, pictured above in its sawn, sandblasted persona, with crisp edges and gentle tonal variations that make it a shoo-in for contemporary designs. You'll find that our latest additions broaden its scope to create a more rustic, relaxed aesthetic.

Acid-washed Egyptian Beige limestone has been exposed to a controlled process that lightly etches the surface of the stone, bringing out the pastel tones and highlighting the fossil markings. It's also a way to create subtle ageing. Rather than choosing Sawn Egyptian Beige limestone paving, you might prefer acid-washed where you want a slightly more weathered appearance and warmer tints. Alongside 900x600mm slabs, we also offer matching bullnose steps for a classic designer look.

Antique Egyptian Beige limestone

Also acid-washed, Antique Egyptian Beige limestone has been put through the extra process of tumbling. This darkens the stone slightly. It also enhances the aged appearance, softening the sawn edges to make them look more weathered. This is ideal where you want to evoke a timeless feel of long-established paving. Like Acid-washed above, Antique Egyptian Beige is available in 900x600mm slabs and matching bullnose steps.

A new addition to our stone paver range. Thanks to the acid-washed surface, Antique Egyptian Beige limestone pavers offer a slightly darker colour, as well as a more time-worn character, than our Egyptian Beige alternative. Our Egyptian Beige Limestone pavers are already very popular for a sleek, contemporary feel, but Antique, with greater surface texture and enhanced markings, fits perfectly into more traditional settings. Antique Egyptian Beige Pavers

Egyptian Beige limestone is one of the most-loved paving options for a reason. It combines contemporary attributes with a sense of history and, whichever surface treatment you prefer, it remains elegant and understated. Like the much sought-after and highly expensive Jura limestone, Egyptian limestone contains small fossil markings and subtle veining that give it character. It's also a good choice for modern life, much loved by designers and landscapers. Michael Quigley, of MK Landscapes says, “Great to handle, cuts brilliantly and cleans up like porcelain. It’s my favourite stone that I’ve installed in 16 years of landscaping.”

Egyptian Beige limestone is also available in 40mm bullnose step treads, used to perfection in this design by Mowtivated.

Great value for money

Compared with Jura limestone, Egyptian comes in at under half the price. Every bit as hard-wearing and versatile, it’s much more budget-friendly, giving a patio a luxury look at a fraction of the cost of Jura.

Choice of surface finish

Because Egyptian limestone is so dense, it requires a surface finish, such as the acid-washing described above. Our Sawn Egyptian Beige is sandblasted. These finishes, not only add slip-resistance, but bring out the character in the limestone. Without an added finish, the paving would be more prominently beige. Instead, it has an elegant appearance with subtle gradations and a distinct character that differs according to the finish. Where to use Egyptian limestone paving and pavers

Egyptian limestone is extremely dense, which makes it naturally stain-resistant and easier to look after. We recommend sealing all sawn paving, however. Even though this stone is naturally dense, sealing will add an extra barrier to help keep it clean. It's ideal for patios and paths but, as with all light-coloured natural stone, even one with low porosity, we don’t recommend it for driveways. Vehicular traffic and high foot-fall increase exposure to dirt and spills, and these appear more obvious on light colours. This gorgeous natural stone is a favourite with designers.
