London Stone may invoke the UK’s capital in its name, but we now have our full range of products on display in the West Country.
Lowarth & Co, Goonhavern, near Truro and Newquay, now have a showroom dedicated to our paving. As with Urban Landscapes in the North-West, we’ve found a collaborator after our own heart in the South-West.
Run by Paul Arymar, Kevin Couldridge and Chris Cooke, Lowarth & Co is a young company, just like London Stone, set up when Paul moved to Cornwall from Essex and saw a gap in the market for a company that provides really high standards of service. “We’re definitely customer-orientated,” said Chris Cooke, Lowarth’s Showroom Manager. “We bend over backwards to make things happen.”
As you might expect in Cornwall – granite county that it is – granite paving is very popular, with our range considerably more affordable than the local stone, while remaining very much in keeping aesthetically.
London Stone’s market-leading range of materials as seen at Lowarth’s display centre.
“I love the consistency and quality of London Stone products,” said Chris. “They’re a very easy company to deal with.” (*Blush*. Thank you, Chris; we do our best!) “They know what I’m like. Any issues, I’m on to it straight away and, between us, we want to sort it out as soon as possible.”
While traditional stone remains popular, in one of the wettest counties in Britain it’s no wonder that a low-maintenance paving with extremely low porosity has attracted attention. So, you’ll find our entire range of Porcelain on display.
DesignClad and DesignBoard, some of our newest materials, are also ideal for the climate. “I had a customer here with an eighteen-metre rendered wall that was still being built,” said Chris. “I said hold-hard on the rendering, showed him DesignClad and he was really excited. I love the stuff; it’s very easy, labour-saving. I like the colour ranges and it’s nice to see a lot of it at the Chelsea Flower Show this year.”
DesignBoard Samples sit perfectly with top-quality London Stone paving.
Even with the showroom paved with London Stone products, and the display area outside, it was a challenge to fit our entire range in, so you can see DesignBoard, our contemporary composite decking, set out in an alternative setting. The garden building company right next door to Lowarth & Co has its display area decked out in DesignBoard, which is a useful way to see it “in action”. “Lots of people have seen the plastic stuff on the market,” says Chris, “and want something better. It lays nicely and sits in the middle of the price range for composite decking.”
As you know, there can be occasional hiccups, even with the best of intentions, and if you’re worried that Cornwall is too distant from the heart of our operations to receive our normal high standard of service, then you shouldn’t be. “You feel that London Stone have got your back,” says Chris. “I had a customer order Green Slate, but some of it was broken upon arrival. I Facetimed Craig, to show him the paving. Craig said no worries. He sent down a new order straight away with another ten square metres gratis. You can’t ask for better service than that.”
Lowarth share London Stone’s passion for delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
Lowarth & Co also offer a design consultancy service and will deliver anywhere. Chris staffs the showroom, which gives you a great opportunity, not only to see our products laid, but to look at the wall-mounted samples also on display and have a good chat with a man who is, quite rightly, a real paving enthusiast!
