Larsen Colourfast 360

Larsen Colourfast 360 Grout Information

Larsen’s Colourfast 360 Flexible Patio Grout is ideal for use with our range of porcelain paving. Containing advanced polymers, additives, a proprietary hydraulic binder that is free from Portland cement, this grout allows for a wide range of fixing possibilities. Use the Larsen Colourfast 360 patio grout as a value-for-money choice for all types of paving, wall and floor tiles, internally and externally. This patio grout mix is water-resistant, so can be used in fully immersed conditions, such as swimming pools where cementitious grouts are recommended. With enhanced flexibility, Larsen’s Colourfast 360 Flexible Patio Grout is available in a choice of six colours and is suitable for a wide range of joint widths from a slender 1mm to 15mm. It’s workable for approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on conditions, and is ready for light foot traffic after about three hours.

Do I need to grout paving slabs?

The short answer is yes. Butt-jointing is sometimes suggested—where slabs are laid edge to edge. This will only lead to tears because contraction and expansion will cause slabs to shift slightly, resulting in damage to the edges. Grout is there as a flexible cushion, stopping excess water from penetrating between the slabs and compromising the mortar bed, and allowing movement between slabs.

Should I seal paving before I grout it?

Not all paving requires sealing, though you may choose to seal anyway, in order to help with cleaning. Higher density, less porous natural stone such as granite and riven sandstone doesn’t absorb dirt easily and may be left unsealed, but we always recommend sealing sawn paving. Paving is best sealed before laying as this means it can be kept undercover, clean and dry while the sealant is applied. If the paving has already been laid, we recommend sealing before grouting.
