No Recession In the Natural Stone Paving Industry?

We are currently advertising for an experienced buyer to come and work in our organisation.  In an ideal world the buyer would have a good knowledge of sandstone, limestone, slate, travertine and granite but it is not essential.  Equally as important as experience in natural stone paving is experience in procurement and buying in general.

We have been really disappointed with the response we have had for the job.  Listening to the doom and gloom on the news we were expecting to be inundated with job applications.  In total we have received about 5 applicants for the job.  Of those 5 we felt that two of them had the right experience for the job.  We arranged for those two candidates to be interviewed and neither person bothered to show up for the interview.

Maybe people just do not get as excited about Yorkstone Paving as I do :)

In all seriousness though being in the natural stone business is good fun and very interesting.  There really is no better feeling than seeing a finished garden patio paved with a beautiful sawn sandstone or limestone.  If anybody out there is as passionate about stone as we are at London Stone then why not get in touch, we would love to hear from you
