Stone cleaners offer the solution to accumulated dirt and stains, a problem faced by any outdoor surface. Algae, builder’s dirt, food and drink, even everyday wear and tear can leave their mark on your natural stone paving, especially where no sealant has been applied. Algae has the added hazard of making your stone slippery, especially under trees. Our stone cleaners, from market leader Lithofin, offer formulae tailored to treat a full range of staining, from green deposits caused by organic matter to algae and mortar and cement residues.
Special stone cleaner can also be used to help clear efflorescence or oxidation of naturally occurring iron within the stone paving. However, it’s important to seek advice when using any product and, if possible, to test it on an inconspicuous area before using it. Limestone needs particular care, as the use of an acid-based stone cleaner would permanently damage its surface. Lithofin 'Builders’ Clean' and 'Bero' are both acidic and are only suitable for sandstone and granite. If you are in any doubt, please contact us and we will be happy to help choose the best product for you.
